No podemos ni imaginar el miedo y el sufrimiento que debió sentir. Pero Camino luchó por vivir. Resistió lo inimaginable, y justo a tiempo, una persona la vio moverse dentro de la bolsa y la rescató. Su historia es un milagro — uno que miles de galgos nunca llegan a vivir. Esta galguita pequeña y frágil, con una fuerza interior inmensa, se ha convertido en símbolo de esperanza y resistencia. Su nombre, Camino, no podría ser más adecuado. Su viaje desde el horror hacia el amor apenas empieza. Camino es sociable, dulce, y muy cariñosa cuando entiende que ya está a salvo. A veces se agacha un poco al acercarte, pero enseguida se abre al cariño, buscando afecto con ternura. Es muy social con otros perros, amorosa con las personas y además es apta con gatos. Desde lo más profundo del abandono, Camino ahora brilla como un verdadero tesoro. Solo necesita una familia que la acompañe en el camino que aún le queda por recorrer — un hogar lleno de amor.

Camino was found inside a garbage bag. Yes — discarded like trash, thrown onto a rubbish heap, left to die. We cannot begin to imagine the fear, the pain, and the slow death she was meant to face. But Camino fought for life. She held on just long enough until a kind passerby saw movement in the bag and saved her. Her survival is nothing short of a miracle — one that thousands of galgos never get. This tiny little galga, with her fragile body and quiet strength, is now a symbol of hope and resilience. Her name, Camino — meaning path or journey — could not be more fitting. Her journey from horror to healing is just beginning. Camino is small, sweet, and incredibly affectionate once she knows she’s safe. She may crouch slightly when you approach, a shadow of her past, but she opens up quickly — eager for love, gentle in every way, and so sociable with dogs and humans alike. She’s even cat-friendly. From the depths of despair, Camino now represents everything we fight for. And she’s waiting for someone to walk the rest of her path with her — a loving home to call her own.

Aragón

Aragón fue encontrado en una gasolinera en la región de Aragón, buscando restos de comida, un poco de calor, personas, y algún lugar donde poder descansar. Estaba claro que había sido abandonado hacía ya tiempo, sin rumbo, sin nadie que se preocupara por él. Lamentablemente, esta es la realidad de muchos galgos en España. Pero la historia de Aragón tomó otro camino: lo rescatamos, lo llevamos a nuestro refugio en Barcelona, y ahora soñamos con que pronto encuentre un hogar definitivo. Y qué galgo tan especial es. A pesar de todo lo vivido, Aragón es tranquilo, cariñoso y muy sociable — tanto con personas como con otros perros. ¡Incluso es compatible con gatos! Tiene esa sabiduría serena de los que han sobrevivido: agradecido por cada gesto de amabilidad, noble y lleno de amor silencioso. Aragón es un verdadero tesoro — una muestra de que incluso las historias más duras pueden tener un final feliz.

Aragon was found at a petrol station in the region of Aragón — searching for scraps of food, warmth, people, and simply a place to rest. He had clearly been abandoned for some time, with nowhere to go and no one to care. Sadly, this is the reality for many galgos in Spain. But Aragon’s story took a different turn: we rescued him, brought him to our kennel in Barcelona, and now we’re hoping his journey will lead to a loving forever home. And what a boy he is. Despite everything he’s been through, Aragon is calm, affectionate, and incredibly sociable — with humans, other dogs, and even cats. He seems to carry the quiet wisdom of a survivor: grateful for every bit of kindness, gentle in his ways, and full of quiet love. Aragon is truly a gem — a reminder that even the hardest stories can turn into something beautiful.

Rubia es una galguita pequeña, color crema, cuya mirada temerosa y cuerpo tembloroso hablan de un pasado que ningún perro debería vivir. Al llegar, se estremecía solo con ver a un humano y se escondía en un rincón, esperando lo peor — porque eso era lo único que conocía. Pero poco a poco Rubia está empezando a comprender que esos días ya pasaron. Ya no hay golpes, solo voces suaves y caricias llenas de cariño. Ahora la vemos salir de la seguridad de su chenil, siguiendo tímidamente a los demás perros mientras se acercan a pedir mimos — y ella, en silencio, también espera recibir los suyos. Ya nos deja sentarnos a su lado, acariciarla durante largos ratos, y empieza a disfrutar de ese amor que nunca conoció. Ver su transformación es un viaje precioso. Rubia is a tiny little cream galga whose trembling body and fearful eyes tell of a past no dog should endure. When she first arrived, she would shiver at the sight of humans and retreat to the corner, bracing for the worst — because that was all she had ever known. El corazón se nos rompe al pensar en la vida que ha tenido Socia… Basta con decir que su galguero la llamaba Sucio — "sucia". Llegó en un estado desgarrador: extremadamente delgada, con la piel descamada por el abandono y los dientes en muy mal estado para una perrita de solo 4 años. Y aun así, no ha perdido la fe en el ser humano. Esta galguita negra simplemente se queda quieta, esperando. En silencio, con paciencia… como si aún confiara en que nuestras manos le ofrecerán cariño, en lugar del castigo al que estaba acostumbrada. Nunca se adelanta, nunca exige. Golondrina es una galguita atigrada, pequeña y dulce, con un alma tan delicada como amorosa. Tiene 7 años — aún joven — y ha pasado su vida sirviendo a un galguero únicamente para criar, hasta que fue descartada y, por suerte, ahora está a salvo tras ser rescatada. Por fin está lista para conocer lo que significa ser amada de verdad. Al principio puede mostrarse un poco tímida, pero enseguida se transforma en una perrita cariñosa que disfruta cada caricia. Su cuerpo frágil y sus ojos grandes y profundos reflejan toda la dulzura que lleva dentro. Es muy sociable, le encanta estar con otros perros, y sería una compañera maravillosa. Her delicate body and huge eyes make her look incredibly endearing — a look that perfectly matches her gentle soul. Her name means “swallow” in Spanish — a small, graceful bird, just like her. Golondrina is 7 years young and has spent her life serving a galguero for nothing but breeding — until she was discarded and thankfully now safely rescued. She is very social, gets along wonderfully with all other dogs, and would make an exceptional companion. Whoever has the chance to adopt her will gain a loyal, sweet friend for life.

Morucho is a very young, happy, funny, and social galgo. He arrived with his brother Tunante, and together they bring a spark of joy wherever they go. Morucho has a beautiful dark brindle face with striking black markings — he’s absolutely stunning. As a young and playful boy, he loves spending time with his kennel mates and gets along wonderfully with all the other galgos. Morucho is full of life, love, and joy — ready to brighten someone’s home.

Despe

Despe es una joven galguita atigrada, y sus ojos cuentan su historia. Hay miedo en su mirada — ese miedo que solo nace tras haber sobrevivido a un gran sufrimiento. Aún le cuesta creer que el horror que vivió ya quedó atrás.Es tímida y necesita tiempo para volver a confiar. A menudo busca consuelo en un rincón tranquilo, tratando de pasar desapercibida. Pero cuando sale al patio de juego, empezamos a ver cómo brilla — disfruta de su tiempo al aire libre y empieza a mostrarse tal como es. Es un viaje precioso y conmovedor ver cómo una galga como Despe sale de su caparazón y aprende a confiar. El vínculo que se crea en ese proceso siempre es muy especial. It’s still difficult for her to believe that the horror she endured is finally behind her. She’s shy and needs time to trust again. Often, she seeks comfort in a quiet corner, trying to disappear. But once she’s out in the play area, we begin to see the spark — she enjoys her time outdoors and starts to come alive. It’s a beautiful and moving journey to watch a galga like Despe come out of her shell and begin to trust. The bond that forms in that process is always something very special. Despe is social with all other dogs, loves cuddles, and would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be loved.

María es una galga muy, muy tímida. Debió de sufrir tanto maltrato y palizas que está absolutamente aterrada. Quiere esconderse, y se nos parte el corazón al verla, porque solo desea volverse invisible. Se acurruca al fondo del chenil, y aunque la puerta al patio esté abierta para que juegue con sus compañeros, ella simplemente se esconde. Llegó temblando, pero está haciendo pequeños progresos: ya puede salir con correa y dar un paseo por el patio. Permite que la acaricien y, poco a poco, está aprendiendo que aquí solo recibirá amor. Necesitará a alguien que comprenda el trauma que ha vivido y que le dé el tiempo necesario para salir de su caparazón. Es un proceso verdaderamente conmovedor, y cada pequeño avance te hace llorar de alegría.
Maria is a shy shy girl.
She must have received so much abuse beating that she is absolutely terrified.
She wants to hide and it breaks our heart looking at her how she just wants to be invisible. She curls up at the back of the kennel and even as the door is open to the patio to play with her kennel mates she just hides. She came trembling but ahe is making small progress and she can come out with a lead and go for a walk in the patio. She lets to be patted and slowly she is learning we will only love her. She will need someone who understands the trauma she must have went through and give her time to slowly come out of her shell. It is truly rewarding process and any small sign and you cry with happiness.

Marisma has a truly horrible and sad past. She was found with a carabiner attached to her leg. She not only was kept in a horrific condition but most likely she was abused. No wonder she suffers from extreme trauma and needs incredible patience and space to let her trust you. She has however gained some trust and can be now taken for a walk within the centre and she enjoys the company of her kennel-mate Haiku. She would need an understanding home with someone who is an expert with traumatic dogs. Marisma is an absolute beauty and a precious galga. She is good with any dogs she is submissive and loves cats.
